People from all over Spain come to Barcelona to join the event.

The organisation of the salon is perfect. Lately, it is hold in ‘Plaça Espanya’ and the installations are huge. There are several rooms for the event and each of them has an aim:

Barcelona in metro

Barcelona’s underground runs mostly in central Barcelona and into the city’s suburbs. It is part of the larger public transport system of Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, with unified fares under the ‘Autoritat del Transport Metropolità’ (ATM) sheme.

As of 2014, the network is operated by two separate companies:Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) andFerrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC). It is made up of 11 lines, combining the lines owned by the two companies.

In addition to the one-way ticket there are a number of other tickets and cards. All of the ‘Autoritat del Transport Metropolità’ (ATM) transport cards are valid and can be used in the Barcelona Metro. You can also use the bus and other transports with this cards:

  • T10, which includes ten rides at a discounted price
  • T50/30–50 journeys made in 30 consecutive days from the first use
  • T Familiar (70/30)
  • T Mes
  • T Trimestre
  • T Dia, which includes unlimited trips within a day
  • T Jove
All of the metro stations are within fare zone 1. Fares can be found on this page.

In the following picture you can see the lines and the different stations:

We recommend the metro to travel Barcelona because the installations are very good and it is the fastest way to travel around Barcelona. Furthermore, there is a member of staff in several stations to help you, even though everything is written in English. You can also buy the tickets in the city, just in the metro stations.

Frankfurt Pedralbes

Also known as Frankfurt Casa Vallés, Frankfurt Pedralbes has offered the best sandwiches of Barcelona. It is well-known in the city by the students because it is next to Campus Nord (an university in Barcelona).

It is a normal and little local but it offers a great variety of sausages (frankfurts, cervelas, malagueñas, burgalesas, chistorras…) and hamburguers, all of them of great quality and homemade. And that is the secret of the restaurant: the quality of the meat, which is handcrafted – they even sell it to other establishments of the city.

The sandwiches are big and you’ll be full once you finish your meal. It is like a Fast-Food place but with more quality.

The stuff is fast and correct even if the restaurant is crowded.

Timetable:

Monday-Saturday 9:00am-24:00pm

Sunday and holidays 10:00am-24:00pm

How to get there?

The address is Jordi Girona Street, 4. Barcelona

Metro stop: Palau Reial (L3)

It is much recommended between teenagers, so you should get a try! Moreover, it is situated next to Pedralbes Park.

Ciutadella Park

La Ciutadella is a park situated in Ciutat Vella, Barcelona. It was created in the mid 19th century, and it has always been the city’s only green space. The 70 acres (280,000 m2) grounds include the city zoo (once home to the albino gorilla Floquet de neu (Snowflake), who died in 2004), the Parliament of Catalonia, a small lake, museums, and a large fountain.

The main attraction is the zoo. This is due to out of the 7,000 animals present.

One half of the park's paths are sinuous and more natural-looking, and the other half ordered and parallel. Along both, huge a variety of vegetation is displayed.

Let’s have a look on the park and its parts:

CITADEL

The citadel was built in order to maintain control over the city and to prevent Catalans from rebelling. This was during the kingdom of Phillip V of Spain.

CASCADA (WATERFALL)

It is located at the northern corner of the park opposite to the lake. It was inaugurated in 1881.

LAKE

It is a scenery enjoyable most of all for romantics. Here you can find turtles on rocks, and fishes dashing through the water.

BANDSTAND

The park’s bandstand is named Glorieta de la Transsexual Sònia. It is dedicated to a transsexual named Sonia, who was murdered there on 6th October 1991.

Gràcia's festival

In the middle of August, one of the most famous neighborhoods of Barcelona celebrates its festival. If you come to Barcelona during August you should totally visit this neighborhood.

This is the winner of 2015
During one week there will be a lot of activities for everyone and where streets are decorated too. How? This is one of the most famous attractions of this event. The streets of Gràcia are transformed into magic places. The people who live in the street think of a theme and they decorate their street with recyclable products and with extraordinary ideas. After that, there is a contest to decide which street has the better decoration. This year the street that has won has been C/Verdi which was decorated in Japanese style.

You can enjoy other activities such as cercaviles, castellers, workshops, water fights, some championships such as the domino one, concerts…

We recommend this festival because it is different and so much fun.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, often simply referred to as La Boqueria is a large public market of Barcelona, and one of the city's most visited points, with an entrance from La Rambla. The market has a very diverse selection of goods.
This is an ancient public market. The first mention of the Boqueria dates from 1217, when tables were installed near the old city gate to sell meat. It had been growing and finally, in 1826 the market was legally recognized and a convention held in 1835 decided to build an official structure.

In this market you can find meat, vegetables, fruit, spices, nuts, fish and a lot of other goods. Are you looking for something rare or special? La Boqueria has it.

How to get there?

You can reach the market easily as it is in the Ramblas street. The metro stop is Liceu (L3).

We like La Boqueria because it is a different market. It is very colorful and crowded, and you can find whatever you want.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
