Saló del Manga

‘Saló del Manga’ is an event that takes place in Barcelona every year, in the end of October and beginning of November. It is an amazing event, and a lot of people buy the tickets early because a lot of people who go to this event! It is a unique opportunity for the lovers of this type of comic, the manga. People from all over Spain come to Barcelona to join the event.

The organisation of the salon is perfect. Lately, it is hold in ‘Plaça Espanya’ and the installations are huge. There are several rooms for the event and each of them has an aim:

• The main room: is where shops sell their products. Here you can find manga, merchandising from TV series, movies, comics, and more products. If you are a lover of cinema or comics you are going to love it.

• The event is dedicated to Japanese culture, and for this there is a room where they offer Japanese food, such as ramen or teriyaki (what we see in films)!

• The auditoriums are provided with huge TVs and seats for everybody to see videos related to manga and anime. Every year the event dedicates these days to something. Last year it was dedicated to Pokemon because it was an important anniversary. This year it is going to be about Mario Bros due to the 30th anniversary.

• There are more rooms and facilities such as the audiovisual rooms, the game place, cosplay exhibition…

All in all, it is an event you don’t want to lose. Thousands of people attend the ‘Saló del Manga’ every year, as me (Núria). I love it! Moreover there are manga sales – you can have products at less price. It is an event I wait for every year. This year is the 21th time the event is being hold in Barcelona – and it is the most important event of this kind in Spain.

EXTRA INFO ABOUT THIS YEAR'S EDITION:

-As this year is the celebration of the Super Mario Bros, there's going to be a cosplay competition and an exposition about the game.

-In the musical sector, there are going to be J-Pop groups such as Tancobuchin, W.League, L.Tamburin and Y.Tabby

-And in the gastronomy sector there is going to be an exposition dedicated to sake!

-Confirmed: the XXI #SalonMangaBCN is going to welcome famous mangakas such as I. Sakisaka, I. Asano, T. Tashiro, T. Sanda or S. Kasaoka

-This year the event is going to be the biggest ever held!

Aqualeon

Aqualeon is an outdoor safari with more than six hundred animals roaming free. There are incredible shows with marine animals, intelligent birds, birds of prey and reptiles. The water park has spectacular slides, a giant-wave pool, a long tube, straight slides, river rapids, twist-twist and children's pool. Other facilities include a mini zoo, nature school, beach volleyball, a la carte and self service restaurants, cafés and souvenir shops.

The cafés and restaurant serve expensive food. Do you want to have a nice lunch? Bring your own food! Outside the park there’s a picnic zone where you can eat. After that, you can enter the park again and have fun.

Indoor Karting

Indoor karting is a place in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (a city near Barcelona) where you can go karting. It is very professional and you are going to have fun for sure!

It may be expensive, but the experience is worth it. The ordinary entrance consists in a 10 minute-long race and the price is 19,00€.

Once you have entered the place you have to wait for your time to get into the car. Meanwhile, you have to put on your riding clothes that the personal from Indoor Karting will give you.

Once in the car, you just have to have fun and win the race!

You can go by RENFE, a train that you can take in Plaza Espanya, until the Sant Vicenç dels Horts Stop. There you can take a bus to St. Feliu del Llobregat.

¡Es muy profesional y si te vas a divertir seguro!

Puede ser un poco caro, pero la experiencia vale la pena. La entrada normal consiste en 10 minutos de larga carrera y el precio es de 19,00 €.

Una vez que hayas entrado en el lugar tienes que esperar tu tiempo para entrar en el kart. Mientras tanto, tienes que ponerte la ropa de montar que el personal te dará.

Camp Nou

The Camp Now Experience Tour & Museum has become an obligatory stop for visitors who love football. This tour gives the chance to walk through the most emblematic areas of this famous stadium.

You can go to the Football Club Barcelona museum and see all the players that have played in this football team, the cups they have won and the story of the club.

SANT JOAN

‘Sant Joan’ is one of the most expected and long-awaited days of the year. We celebrate the arrival of the summer (two days after though) on the 23^rd of June, the shortest night of the year. The party last until the next day, the 24^th.

Sant Joan is one of Barcelona's biggest parties and the noisiest and possibly the craziest. It's a night of Fireworks, Coca cakes and Cava, but not of sleep. During this night we join into an open-air dance (in catalan called ‘revetlla’) with all our relatives and friends.

Sant Joan events in Barcelona are organised locally by the districts and civic centres of Barcelona and people just celebrate the evening with dinners, parties, firecrackers and bonfires all over Catalonia. The biggest central gathering on the Nit de Sant Joan is on the beaches of Barcelona, which attract crowds of around 75.000 people.

And to make it a perfect night, you shouldn’t miss the traditional ‘coca’ of Sant Joan.
