Granja la Pallaresa

“La Pallaresa” is a cute café next to La Rambla of Barcelona. Here you can have a nice cup of coffee or a hot chocolate cup while being in the centre of Barcelona.

You should taste the churros, which are very common in Spain and can be a sweet breakfast! What’s more, people from Barcelona say that in this café they serve the best chocolate of Barcelona.

The waiters were very friendly and had always a smile on their faces.

As we said before, it is located in a street next to La Rambla. The name of the street is ‘Petritxol’.

If you click HERE you can go to their Facebook page.

¡Prueba los churros, están bueníssimos!

Portal de l'Àngel

‘Portal de l’Àngel’ is a pedestrian street located in ‘CiutatVella’, a district of Barcelona near ‘Plaça Catalunya’. It is a shopping area. It's one of the most visited streets in the city and it is always crowded with tourists and locals all year round.

In “Portal de l’Àngel” we can have a walk while enjoying part of the heart of Barcelona. While we drift around, we can have something to eat such as an ice cream or a sweet apple.

Athough it is a relatively narrow street, we can shop in a lot of different boutiques, such as Zara, Massimo Dutti, H&M, Benetton, Disney, Bershka, Mango, Oysho, El Corte Inglés…

Sometimes we can even enjoy live performances!

We usually visit this part of Barcelona because it is one of our favourite parts. And it is shady! If you want to amble along and see a bunch of different kinds of shops, you definitely have to visit ‘Portal de l’Àngel’.

Curious fact: Portal de l'Àngel is noteworthy for being the most expensive street in Spain, with an average rental price of €265 per square meter in 2013.

How to get there?
It is very easy to get to “Portal de l’Àngel”. We can go by metro or bus, but we recommend you to take the first one. Get off at “Plaça Catalunya” if you use the lines L1, L3, L6 and L7. Just walk down the street and enjoy it!

La Rambla

La Rambla is a street in central Barcelona, next to Plaça Catalunya and Portal de l’Àngel, popular with tourists and locals alike. It connects Plaça Catalunya with the Christopher Columbus Monuments at Port Vell. It forms boundary between the quarters of Barri Gòtic (East) and El Raval (West).

La Rambla is crowded because of its popularity. There you can find all kinds of shops where you can buy everything you wish: flowers, souvenirs, ice creams, newspapers... There are also street performers and pavement cafes and bars.

Walking along La Rambla you can find some historic buildings as the famous Liceu Theatre in which operas and ballets are staged. You can also find La Boqueria, the most famous market in Barcelona where you can buy exotic and rare goods.
To reach La Rambla is very easy. You can go with the metro:

L3 because it runs beneath the length of La Rambla. Stations: Catalunya, Liceu and Drassanes.

You can also go with the L1 and stop in Plaça Catalunya and reach La Rambla.

Personally, La Rambla is one of our favourite places in Barcelona. You can find anything you want and very different people take a walk in La Rambla and enjoy one of the best places of Barcelona.

Passeig de Gràcia

‘Passeig de Gràcia’ is one of the major avenues in Barcelona and one of its most important shopping and business areas, containing several of the city's most celebrated pieces of architecture. It is located in the central part of ‘Eixample’, stretching from ‘Plaça Catalunya’ to ‘Carrer Gran de Gràcia’.

There are lots of luxurious shops along“Passeig de Gràcia”. As a result, it is sometimes compared to walk in the “Champs Elysees” in Paris and the “Fifth Avenue” in New York.

We love ‘Passeig de Gràcia’ because we can have a walk while seeing Barcelona and its magnificent buildings. Among these buildings, the most important and recognized ones are:

· Casa Batlló by Antoni Gaudí (1904-1906)

· Casa Bonaventura Ferrer by Pere Falqués i Urpí (1906)

· Casa Milà "La Pedrera" by Antoni Gaudí (1905-1910)

We recommend this avenue if you want to go shopping, have a walk and see a luxurious part of Barcelona.

Curious fact: “Passeig de Gràcia” is regarded as the most expensive street in Barcelona and in Spain.

How to get there?

We can go by metro: stop at “Passeig de Gràcia” (L1) and “Diagonal” (L3).

We can also get there by bus and train, but we always recommend the metro to move around in Barcelona.

Plaça Catalunya

Today we are going to inform you about ‘Plaça de Catalunya’, meaning in English "Catalonia Square”. This plaça is a large square in central Barcelona that is generally considered to be its city centre. From this plaça we can go to ‘Portal de l’Àngel’, ‘Passeig de Gràcia’, ‘El Barri Gòtic’ or ‘Les Rambles’, two of the busiest places in Barcelona. (We will post more information about these places soon).

We can reach ‘Plaça Catalunya’ easily. We can go there by metro, bus… Nevertheless, we recommend the metro because it is very simple. You can take the following lines: L1, L3, L6 and L7.

Once we arrive to the plaça, we will be surrounded by high buildings, shops and restaurants. The plaça is round and it is surrounded by some benches and green areas, with some trees that provide shade and beautiful fountains.

In this plaça we will find some stands in which we can buy food for the big number of pigeons, which we can always find in the plaça. Children love buying birdseeds and running among the pigeons.

As we have said before, we can find shops and restaurants. The most recognized shops we can find are Desigual and Sfera, and there are two of the most important shopping centres, which are “El Corte Inglés” (one of the most prestigious department stores in Spain) and “El Triangle”, which is our favourite because inside we can find Urban Outfitters, FNAC, cafés (like Starbucks), restaurants like UDON and Buenas Migas and some more.

Personally, we think this place is one of the most beautiful of Barcelona. We love the atmosphere and, even though it can be crowded, it is lovely. We like the fact that ‘Plaça Catalunya’ connects everything important in Barcelona.

Curious fact: when it is Winter, people can go to a skating rink that is put there. It is beautiful and a different way to enjoy this place!

We truly recommend this site in Barcelona. You can’t leave Barcelona without having visited it!
